Welcome! Pura Vida Urban Fitness opened its doors in June of 2011. Our uniquely qualified team members – trainers, coaches and instructors with a diversity of interests and backgrounds – all have one focused goal: provide you with personalized attention so that you can achieve to the best of your ability.
“Time to be the best” captures our mentality at Pura Vida Urban Fitness. Those are the words we hear from the moment the alarm goes off in the morning to the moment our eyes close at night – “time to be the best”. Everyday is a chance to enjoy a happier, healthier life – it is only a matter of making the most of your time and efforts.
We’ll never demand that you do the impossible, but we do think that you’ll be surprised and thrilled by what you can accomplish through effort – which we will always demand of you – and experience (the two ee’s of succeed).
Maybe you just want to switch up your training routine with a little cross-training or maybe you want to lose 30 lbs. In either case, your success is our success, and that’s why we’re here to provide you with the degree of support you need (from a little to a lot) in reaching your fitness and nutrition goals.
If you’ve never stopped in to say hello, sign-up for your $10 Trial Class today. Make sure you join us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest promos, new classes, client updates and more.

Sarah loves all types of dancing including salsa, swing, merengue, and hip-hop. She first started teaching Zumba during her work for the non-profit organization, HealthCorps. As a HealthCorps coordinator in East Flatbush (2009-2011) she found creative ways to spread health and wellness to high school students by integrating yoga, meditation, cooking, dancing, gardening, and nutrition into a high school curriculum.
Sarah holds a BS in Sociology from the University of Michigan and is currently working on her Masters in Special Education at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus through the New York City Teaching Fellows. Sarah’s passion is teaching in addition to holistic wellness and loves to meet new people to learn from and share these passions with!
